The holes are the proper size for nesting birds and keep the starlings out. There are no perches because birds do not use them in the wild.
Most open for easy cleaning.- There is plenty of ventilation and drainage.- The roofs overhang for shade and to keep the rain out.- - Many of our bird residents are so enamoured of their beautiful estates that they don't even want to fly south for the winter.
